Wow. I can’t believe that there are only two students allowed in this web design group. Why is it that the students always get left out of the decision making? It was like that when I was at WES and from the looks of it things have not changed very much. 2 out of 21 are students….what a statement that makes. The main target audience I imagine are prospective students and current students, hence people a lot younger than most of those in this advisory group. There are a number of amazing web designers and talented creative students on campus, why not allow more of them to take part in the process and learn about all the decisions, planning, and responsibility involved in redesigning an official website. Shame on you administration…(or whoever decided the number of students permitted to serve on this panel).
I am amazed at the size of this advisory group. We (Tyndale University College & Seminary – http://www.tyndale.ca) are going through a similar process and have a “steering committee” of about 10. There is no way I can keep all of them happy either. I would love to know how well the group has been working for you.
BTW – while we did use a lot of students during the research process we do not have any sitting on our committee.
